The Grove City Art Concern will display the photographs of Neal Lauron through May in an exhibit at City Hall. His photographs have been featured in newspapers worldwide, including Time and Sports Illustrated. This is a photo Lauron took for the city of Grove City in 2014 at the final celebration for Beulah Park.
Neal Lauron is memorialized as the featured artist for the Grove City Art Concern exhibit during April and May, with the help of his wife, Elizabeth. His photographs graced the pages of newspapers worldwide, including the cover of Time, Sports Illustrated and Newsweek magazines.
The public is invited to a reception from 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday, May 2 at City Hall, 4035 Broadway in Grove City.
Lauron covered the Philippine national revolution and the tragedies of 9/11 at Ground Zero in New York City as a full-time staff photographer for the daily newspaper in Columbus. His work shows a deep dedication to his job, faith, family, community and country.
The exhibit is open to the public weekdays, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., or by appointment by calling Tami Kelly, clerk of council at 614-277-3065.
The Grove City Art Concern was founded in 1991 and sponsored by Grove City Council. The Art Concern exhibits promote arts and culture in the Grove City community.
