COWICHE, Wash.-The eighth annual Images of the Shrub-Steppe Art Exhibit is scheduled to open at the Boxx Gallery in Tieton on Sept. 6.

The Boxx Gallery and the Cowiche Canyon Conservancy are sponsoring the exhibit that features visual arts, including paintings, photography, collage and sculpture inspired by the shrub-steppe landscape, according to a press release announcing the exhibit.

Images of the Shrub-Steppe opens at 1 p.m. on Sept. 6 and runs through Sept. 29. A reception for the featured artists will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 7.

Special events to coincide with the exhibit will also be held in Tieton, including artist talks and a community festival.

Steppe into the square community festival: Sept. 7 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Tieton Town Square.Artist Talk at the Boxx Gallery: Sept. 14 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Boxx Gallery.The Lives and Times of Shurb-Steppe Butterflies, with David James: Sept. 20 from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Boxx Gallery.A Tale of Two Lava Flows, with Zach Schierl: Sept. 22 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the Boxx Gallery.

The Boxx Gallery at 616 Maple Street in Tieton is open on Fridays from 1-5 p.m. and on Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
