There were some fine designs on display as the Cambridge Regional College (CRC) School of Art & Design held a fashion show.
The show was part of a private viewing for the college’s Art & Design Exhibition, which ends today (Friday, 14 June).
The exhibition, at the Cambridge campus on King’s Hedges Road, showcases the talents of CRC’s Year 1 and 2 students (aged 16-18) across various disciplines including general art and design, fine art, fashion and textiles, and visual communications.
Sue Breeze, head of creative industries at CRC, said: “We have an end-of-year exhibition to showcase the work that the students have created for their final, major projects – and one of our pathways is fashion and textiles.
“So for the students to really show their fantastic flair for fashion design, they create their pieces and these are modelled in two fashion shows at our private view evening.
“The theme set this year was ‘diva’ and all the pieces created were in some way recycled. We were in a fortunate position to have been donated a lot of prom frocks a couple of years ago, so some of the students took these and deconstruct and reconstruct.”
Sue noted that the designs in the fashion show were very well received. “The feedback we got on the evening was really complimentary about the skills of the students, their imagination, use of materials and artistic flair,” she said.
