If Andy Cohen’s 5-year-old son Ben doesn’t go into a career as a stand-up comedian — because his quips are always on point! — then he may have a future as an artist! The Watch What Happens Live star just shared a new video of Ben’s latest artwork, which he called a “piece of contemporary art,” and we are thoroughly impressed.
“Objectively feeling pretty damn good about this, um, as a piece of contemporary art,” Cohen said on his Instagram story, showing off a drawing made by Ben. “I mean, not to boast but thinking about sending this to a gallery. Or putting it in my closet.”
The colorful art was drawn with markers on a simple sheet of white paper. He drew his name “BEN” in purple, red, blue, and green on the left side of the page, and on the right, he drew an interpretation of a rainbow. Forget about ROY G. BIV, Ben’s rainbow has blue on top, followed by red, green, yellow, and purple. The ends of the rainbow are uneven, with the right side longer than the left. In fact, it almost looks like a side profile of a person with rainbow bangs in front and longer rainbow hair in back. In the center, he wrote “BEN” sideways, and it almost looks like a pair of eyes for the “B,” a nose for the “E” and a mouth for the “N.”
Cohen is clearly impressed by this work of art — especially if he’s considering hanging it in the closet instead of putting it on the fridge for a while and then secretly throwing it away after the kids go to bed. (All parents do it, it’s OK.)
Earlier this week, the Bravo TV host shared an adorable photo of Ben hanging out at a crosswalk in the rain. The picture, set to Gene Kelly’s “Singin’ In The Rain,” showed Ben dressed in a puffer jacket, rainboots, and a color-changing umbrella. He’s both artistic and fashionable!
Cohen is also dad to daughter Lucy, who turns 2 this month, opened up about parenthood in a May 2023 interview Anderson Cooper on CBS Sunday Morning. “I think [parenting] has changed me in every way,” Cohen said. “I think my priorities have completely shifted. I think my sense of accomplishment has totally changed, and even just getting your kids breakfast and getting them out to school. When I drop him off at school, I’m like, ‘You did it, dude! That was a rough two-and-a-half hours.’”
It’s so true! But doing your best — and appreciating all the little wins — is what parenting is all about.
