An architectural artist from Barnsley, has become popular for his drawing of Henderson’s House, on Leavygreave Road, Sheffield.

Adam Briscoe has produced this drawing of the Henderson’s Relish factory. The sauce was prepared in the building from 1959 to 2013, before it relocated to a new facility.

Mr Briscoe said: “I have been in talks with Henderson’s Relish, and although they’ve sent me loads of goodies, I hopefully will be working with them in the future and create something really good with this style.

“This piece has actually reached Australia, New Zealand and Turkey, so it’s done really well. As an artist, you draw things and think ‘is it going to work?’ but this has.”

The building became part of the University of Sheffield’s estate in 2015. Planning permission to turn the building into a cafe, restaurant or leisure space was granted in April 2022.

Efforts have been made to preserve the House, through reusing the original bricks.

Structural inspections began in January 2021, and the scaffolding was removed at the start of April this year.

Mr Briscoe said: “I’m really looking forward to doing more art in Sheffield. I’ve been looking at doing the Steelers and other iconic places around the city.”
