Join professional comic artist Ruairí Coleman for a two-hour workshop, “An introduction to drawing comics!” where Ruairí will share the basic skills he’s acquired working for publishers like Marvel and DC Comics to help you bring your art to the next level!
During the class, you will draw your own comic book page and learn some tricks the best comic artists use to make their work stand out from the crowd! Ruairí will be on hand to explain everything you need to know, answer your questions and give you some tips and hints to improve your work.
The class is open to comic artists aged 13 and above of any skill level: you don’t have to be the best artist in the world right now, you just have to love drawing comics! If you’re already making your own comics, Awesome! Bring them along!
Basic materials will be supplied (an A3 comic book template, HB Pencil, Eraser and Ruler) but you’re welcome to bring your own tools as well! The comic book page you create in class will be yours to take home after!
Over the two hours, Ruairí will give you some insight on what it’s like to work for the biggest publishers in comics, what comic book publishers want to see from your work and answer any questions you have about working in the comics industry!
The workshop is open to ten attendees and under 18s must be accompanied by an adult.
