A 5 week drawing course held at the Victorian Artists Society every Wednesday 4pm – 6:30pm.
In this class students will be taught how to draw the human figure. You will learn to observe a model, notice different proportions and mutual connection between shapes.
Learn how to capture movement of the human body and then try to develop an individual style, which will show each student’s point of view and unveil the reason why they use human body for expressing their ideas. Technique taught will be:
Study, long pose 1- 2 hours, concentrating on proportions of human body, male or female nude (charcoal or dry pastel, fixative)
Sketches, short poses 15-20 minutes, learn how to capture movement of figure (charcoal or soft pencil /B6/, fixative)
Figurative Composition, an attempt to express mutual connection between two or more figures using figurative drawings from previous sessions. Technique will be collage (cardboard size A2 or bigger, charcoal, dry pastel, fixative, glue, scissors, graphite, ink and brushes, watercolors, etc.
This course is taught by Australian sculptor Zoja Trofimiuk. Zoja specializes in cast glass; her studio is in Melbourne.
