Chloë McPolin hopes to exorcise her Junior Cert art trauma by taking a life-drawing class, but her sketch of a naked model takes the shape of an alien with hooves for feet

Drawing had never crossed my mind in my hobby quest. Probably because I had the ability to make people look alarmingly like aliens for my Junior Cert art.

Because of that trauma, I’d cast life drawing to the back of my mind. When it comes to hobbies, I think we all want to be good at them. I knew I was terrible at art, so why would I run the risk of being utterly rubbish in front of a class of people, you may ask? Simply because a swanky new studio opened up in my Rathmines radius and I was utterly besotted from the moment I saw it. It is called Segotia.
