A new public art installation features banners and flags drawing on stories, memories and landmarks from around Park Street and Queen’s Road.
The work, called P.S. With Love, has been designed by printmaker Nick Hand of the Letterpress Collective and illustrator Hannah Cousins, and was commissioned by Bristol City Centre Business Improvement District in partnership with Bristol City Council.
The aim of the work which will be on display throughout July and August is “to highlight the cultural depth and activity” happening across the area this summer.

The banners and flags feature images including Alfred the gorilla from Bristol Museum, a bell from the Lord Mayor’s Chapel and a unicorn from the top of City Hall.
Banners also include phrases such as ‘inspire & create’, ‘discover & explore’ and ‘gather & enjoy’.
Hand, who used to go shopping on Park Street with his grandfather and now walks through the area with his own grandson, said: “These flags are full of small but significant moments; things that make this part of Bristol so rich in character.
“It’s about the past and present coming together, from historic moments to the song of a blackbird.”
