Aspen Public Art, a new city of Aspen program, and Roaring Fork Drawing Club, an informal group focused on creating a community for people to get together and draw, will be hosting a public picnic where the community can spend the evening drawing and enjoying refreshments on Tuesday.
The event will be hosted from 6:30 p.m. until sunset at the Francis Whitaker Park on Hopkins and Monarch. According to a press release, the event is also inspired by a new public art installation from the New York-based artist duo CHIAOZZA.
The event is free for the public and is open to all skill levels. The event is drop-in, and no pre-registration is required. Patrons are asked to bring art-making supplies and picnic accessories. Francis Whitaker Park has some picnic tables.
