BEMIDJI — Exhibiting artist Aaron Squadroni will lead a metalpoint drawing workshop from 3:30 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 1, at

Watermark Art Center,

505 Bemidji Ave. N.

A metalpoint drawing is created by pulling a metal rod or wire, utilized as a drawing tool, across a surface that is often prepared with gesso or primer, a release said.

“Once used by scribes and craftspeople in ancient times and artists during the Renaissance, metalpoint is gaining renewed appreciation in the contemporary art world,” the release said.

Participants ages 16 and older will look at the history of metalpoint drawing and work with various metals to create subtle and enigmatic drawings.

The cost is $30 per participant, which includes materials.

Register and pay for this class online at
