Scribble artworks by a Cebu-based artist has earned praises from Hollywood star Hugh Jackman who portrayed Logan/Wolverine in the X-Men film series about mutants born with superhuman powers.
Jackman shared the scribble artworks of artist Archie Goc-ong in one of his social media accounts early in May 2024.
Jackman wrote in his post: “Love this!”
Archie said that the drawings were done in 2022 after he saw a pictorial of the latest installment of the film.
As a child of the 1990s, Archie is among the legions of X-Men admirers and followers.
Archie delights in the praises he has received from Jackman that uphold honor and pride which oscillate at the core of every scribble artist.
He said the attention provided by Jackman has earned him the respect of clients, the number of which is growing by leaps and bounds.
Though he is into art for quite a time already, he did not imagine he would grow a stable, permanent career out of it.
Archie said he is used to oil and charcoal painting but only as a hobby. Drawing used to be a leisure activity but now it has unfolded as a career.
Archie is a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Information Technology; because he finds a life in drawing, he pursued his training as a graphic artist.
He works as graphic artist to a US-based company licensed to create designs for Disney, DC Comics, Marvel, and Warner Brothers.
His talent, hobby, and experience are harnessed to embrace technology where platforms help him hone his skills further such as digital art.
He would look back to the day when opportunities were not as flourishing as today. With what he has right now, he feels favored, indeed to have been gifted with super-creativity that merits attention on a global scale.
